I’ve had this blog for 3 days and I keep talking about plants…

I think this is a coping mechanism for me with everything that is going on. For some reason having plants around me has always slowly curbed my anxieties. But, it’s not just me. Studies have actually shown that having plants in your home can reduce stress.. ok, mind = blown. I’ve linked below an INCREDIBLE article called The Benefits of Having Plants in Your Home. This paragraph below simply made my jaw drop…

Most wall paints, rubbers, vinyl, laminates, computer parts and plastics all break down over time and release compounds into the air we breathe. The good news is, we can improve our indoor air quality with plants. Plants absorb harmful toxins, breaking them down into gentle byproducts, and storing them in their soil to use later for food.” (The Sill)

Some of you probably already knew this, but I didn’t OK?! Anyways, the plants that I currently have in my my little chateau include a snake plant, a fern, a money tree (purchased during the pandemic to bring some good luck, lol) and soon I will be adopting more plants from the store that I run while we are temporarily shut down during this outbreak. I’ll be taking in a beautiful monsterra plant, a couple more ferns, two jasmine plants, and a couple philodendrons. I’m excited to see the effect it will have on me in my small living space. Why You Need Plants in Your Life

UPDATE AS OF APRIL 2: I officially have adopted all plants from my store AND I purchased two more from The Sill because I couldn’t help myself. The packaging of the plants was incredible and the pots were so expensive looking (I only spent less than $30 on each plant). I’ll definitely be purchasing more from them. I’ve also noticed a major difference in my morning routine since having the plants the last 10 days- I’m more eager to open all the curtains in the little chateau and ready to start the day (maybe they’re not correlated, but I’m pretending they are).
